Open Championship Series Launches New “Face-Off”

📰 The news: The Open Championship Series (an independent event producer) has announced a new “Face-Off” end-of-season experience. It will feature a bracket-style elimination format that crowns level champions on levels 1–5. The event includes 4 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals, and 1 championship round. More details on brackets and points are available here.

🌟 Why it matters: Event producers are increasingly creating new end-of-season competitions, giving teams more ways to compete and attend events. The Face-Off could become a main option, offering teams a competitive, affordable way to compete regionally and nationally. Recent announcements include the “Global Worlds” (despite the name, not fully global) and the “Tournament of Champions“, which also uses a bracket and level champion format.

📅 What’s next: Any interested teams can learn more about this event and how to participate. As for fans, we can sit back and watch how these new end-of-season formats develop – and which events will gain the most traction.
