Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://www.thecheerbuzz.com. To read more about what we do, our values and more – head to the about page.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We use different software tools to measure and collect session information – including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name & email address).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form and the visitor’s IP address to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

All comments and comment data are stored on the website only. If you wish to delete your comments and data, please contact us by email. The data is then typically deleted within 48 hours.

Contact forms & newsletters

When filling out a contact form (including the newsletter signup) on the site, we only collect the data show in the form – name, email address etc. You can at any time delete that data by contacting us, but note that it will also remove your sent messages and newsletter subscription. The data is then typically deleted within 48 hours. The newsletter service we use is called Mailchimp. You can read their own privacy policy here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

Digital downloads (e-book) & credit card information

We do not store any credit card information on our servers. All credit card information that is used to purchase anything from thecheerbuzz.com (downloadable e-book for example) is used and stored on PayPal.com servers. You can read more about PayPal’s security and safety here: https://www.paypal.com/se/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security

The only customer data stored on our (SSL protected) servers is the name and email address used for purchase.

Cookies

What are cookies and what are they used for?

Cookies are small text files which are placed on a user’s computer or mobile device to identify your browser or device and recognize you when you visit the site again. Cookies can be used to store, view and understand information about the user and how the website is being used. This can be used to deliver products, services and advertisement based on your browsing, help the user remember settings and login details and improving the experience of the website overall. Cookies can also contribute to making online marketing more relevant based on interests.

Cookies on this website are, for example, used to gather information about what pages on the site you visit the most, with the purpose of improving the website and making it more user-friendly. The affiliate programs we are a part of (read the full affiliate disclosure here) use cookies to track customer purchases. Sometimes a third-party can place cookies in your device to help understand how this website is being used. To track user behaviour on the site, we use Google Adsense. You can read their privacy policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=sv&gl=se

How long are cookies stored on your device?

How long a cookie is stored on your particular computer och mobile device depends on what type of cookie it is. The so-called ”session cookies” are temporary cookies that expire when you leave the site. On the other hand, ”persistent cookies”, are stored until they expire or gets deleted.

How to view and manage the cookies you have on your device

If you want to check what cookies are being used, follow the instructions of your browser (often under ”help” or ”tools”) to change your cookie settings. Note: if you specify your browser to inactivate or delete cookies, you may not access some parts of the site or they may not work correctly.

You can read more about cookies here: https://www.allaboutcookies.org

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (YouTube videos, images, facebook likes, quizzes etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (content contributors), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).

How we protect your data

We only use trusted third party services that we know are secure, as well as continuously improving our own site security. For example, we use an SSL certificate to keep the website as secure as possible.

Ability to update the privacy policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it from time to time. Changes will take effect immediately after being posted on the website.
